The Triumphant Return!

Happy Friday yet again! Kara has returned safely from Illinois, Ginger is... still in Illinois... and we're back to work! If you want to keep tabs on the various things our creators got up to, check out Kara's blog. She's doing a series of posts on her trips to theme parks, baseball games, and everything else the Chicago area had to offer.

But let's talk a little bit about some more series-related stuff for now.

For starters, here's Kara with the paperback of our first book! Print editions have gone out to those who have preordered, and you can still get copies if you'd like. You can always download the free ebook version... but boy, these sure are pretty in tangible form.

Sadly, Kara's phone was a jerk, so we didn't get as many videos as we wanted. We did get some, which are currently on Ginger's computer, and which Kara will edit and share over the next few weeks as they come in. There's some fun talk on our process, upcoming books, and a little of what we got up to while we were together.

Among our adventures was a trip to Phillips Park Zoo. It's small compared to other zoos, but it's free to visit and to park. There's a reptile house, some local critters, and -- of interest to us -- several owls! It was rainy when we went out, so most of the animals were hiding, but we did get to see a few dumb babies while we were there. If you're ever in the area, go visit!

We're nearing readiness on Book 2, so stay tuned for some sneak previews, some chat about what to expect, and more! For now... Kara's going to finish catching up on her sleep.

Owl's Flower Spring Tour!

It's a little bit of a special weekly update -- Kara is currently up in Illinois visiting Ginger!

So what's going on while we're here? Well, yesterday we spent the day at Six Flags. It was mostly roller coasters, but some book brainstorming also went on.

For the rest of the weekend we'll be making some videos, going to a Cubs game, and probably finishing off MST3K. But we'll definitely be pulling some things together for readers about current and future book work, as well as some general silliness.

Also, Kara got her contributor copy of the first book and it's lovely. If you don't have yours yet, trust us, you're going to love it when you do!

Once the weekend is over and there's time to edit videos, expect the next few Fridays to be video-ness!

Ow's Flower Weekly Wrap-Up! ~ May 12, 2017

Greetings, readers and visitors! It's a big weekend for us, as both Kara and Ginger are prepping for Kara's trip out to Illinois next week! She'll be heading out Wednesday and heading back Tuesday, and apparently Ginger has some cool stuff in store. Baseball? Trampolines? Maybe some owls? We'll see.

For now, book preorders are sorted, bound, and getting ready to be sent off to their forever homes! So look forward to your own tangible, flippable, shelvable copy of the beginning of Owl's Flower.

And in case you missed it, Ginger made a video showing how she hand-bound this first volume!

Remember, you can still get an ebook edition free or buy a bound copy. Future ebook editions will be pay-what-you-want, but we will never put a price on the first digital copy, so you know what you're getting into!

Next week's update will likely be made from Kara's laptop many, many miles from home. No idea what it will contain, but hopefully it'll be entertaining for our readers. 'Til then!

Creator Weekly Wrap-Up! ~ May 5, 2017

Welcome back to the blog! Ginger and Kara are currently making plans for a mid-month meet-up, so look forward to stories and photos from that when it comes around! For now, though, here's what we've been up to.

Ginger recently released some adorable pinback buttons inspired by the emoji badges from the Doctor Who episode "Smile." The full set of eight is available for $8, or the skeptical 12 face on its own (top left) for just $1. They've been very popular, so be sure to grab yours while you can!

Meanwhile, Kara's back from RavenCon and has posted about it on her blog! Thanks to everyone who came by to chat about books, conventions, and general silliness!

She'll next be at Anime Mid-Atlantic next month in Norfolk, VA, working a table for Onezumi Events and hosting Friday night karaoke! If you're an anime fan and in the area, come see us!

That's all for this installment -- check back soon for more news!
